Love Andover Easter Eats Event

On Monday 12th April, teams from Love Andover and LoveAndover FamilyLife pitched up our Gazebo outside the YMCA building on Augusta Park in Andover. To offer local families healthy eating activities. Thanks to #Connect4Communities from Hampshire County Council we can continue to support people with making healthy eating choices. With lockdown easing this is the first of many free family events that we have planned for you to enjoy with your children.

Ella Palmer, Youth community and Training worker, Says, “Despite the chilly weather, families dropped by to create Easter bunny snack pots and sandwich kebabs. It was so lovely to see the children and their families working together to be creative, read instructions and learn the basics of food preparation. The children’s faces were beaming with their finished creations and the families enjoyed time together. The chilly weather didn’t put some families off from sitting down and enjoying their lunch together either. It was a really lovely family event and we hope to do alot more in the future.

Sarah Gisbourne, Community and Events manager said, “It was lovely to see so many families enjoying an activity together which resulted in a yummy healthy snack for them to enjoy , We are looking forward to holding many more events for Andover families as the lockdown is lifted”

Here are some of the local Andover families that came along and took part in our event.

More photos of this event can be found in the next edition of the Love Andover Observer due out on Thursday 22nd April
