Customers can no longer sit and eat in McDonald’s.

This affects not ony their restaurants on New Street and Weyhill Road but all restaurants in the UK during the coronavirus crisis.

The chain announced that it will now only offer takeaway, drive-thru and delivery through the outbreak.

All outlets have closed their seating areas as of 5am this morning (Wednesday March 18th 2020).

Orders via Uber Eats and Just Eat will now be on contact-free basis. A company statement confirmed there will be “no physical contact between customers, employees and couriers wherever possible”.

The statement continued: “In these unprecedented times, our restaurants will continue to remain open for as long as it is safe to do so“.
