Talking to Love Andover today, Myra explained her family’s situation. A full report will be published in this week’s edition of the Love Andover Observer.

In 2019, Winchester County Court heard that Lucy-Anne’s estranged husband, 28-year old Shaun Dyson, ‘repeatedly stamped’ on 30-year old Lucy after ordering her swallow her wedding ring. A post-mortem examination found Ms Rushton had suffered broken ribs, a broken breastbone and collapsed lungs.

Dyson who lived in Anna Valley originally pleaded guilty to manslaughter but admitted murder. In December 2019 Dyson was jailed for a minimum of 17 years.

At his trial, the court heard that there were children present during the ‘brutal’ attack.

Myra Simpson has started the petition asking people to sign, saying, “He [Dyson] has kept his parental rights. This stops my daughter’s family from seeing my daughter’s children.”
