Andover Town continued their winning streak and quest for promotion from the Sydenhams Football League (Wessex) with a hard fought win at Bournemouth Poppies last night.

Never an easy ground to go to (or find) Andover made life difficult for themselves by missing a first half penalty before Manny Soetan, who scored three at Hamworthy on Saturday, put them ahead after the break.

The home side quickly equalised and it looked as though the points would be shared until Soetan claimed the winner, and his second goal, with just one minute of normal time left on the clock.

With Hamworthy losing at home last night and having played more games, they cannot now catch the Town leaving Blackfield as the nearest and possibly only challengers – and they have a backlog of fixtures to overcome as well as two Cup Finals
