With the success of their fabulous shows across the country, Tango Calor will bring the music of Buenos Aires to Andover.
Following the performances of the much-loved Moscow Drug Club at the theatre, experienced bandoneon player Mirek Salmon is bringing another one of his bands; Tango Calor to The Lights this autumn. Joining Mirek, the sensational Dutch jazz pianist Daan Temmink and renowned Latin vocalist Indira Roman. The band will play from 8pm in an intimate cabaret setting.
All three members have played multiple prestigious venues across Europe, as well as closer to the home in the UK. They have made regular appearances at the WOMAD (World of Music, Arts and Dance) Festival in Malmesbury which turned 40 in July of this year. With multiple tour dates to coincide with their new and self-titled EP, the band are recognised by peers and audiences as one of the best and brightest tango acts in the country.
Tango Calor will play a blend of traditional and contemporary tango music throughout the evening, The Atrium Bar will be well-stocked to keep the crowd suitably refreshed for this arena event, and audiences will be encouraged to get on their feet and make use of the arena dancefloor should they wish.
