Extraordinary Wheels and Wings at the Army Flying Museum

On Saturday 3rd July, The Army Flying Museum hosted the Wallop Wheels and Wings with hundreds of cars on display, as well as 40 classic aircraft. There were flypasts and parades to be enjoyed throughout the day.

We were delighted to be part of the day and enjoyed talking to the many people that attended the event including Prince Michael of Kent who is patron of the museum.

Ashleigh Moloney who is one of the younger members of the Love Andover Events team said, “The atmosphere of all the people, I loved. Everyone was so friendly and the catering was good too. “

Carole Payne said,” We were looking forward to seeing the motorcycle cavalcade and we weren’t disappointed. We got a good look at each one as they rode by us. Great display. “

There were a range of artisan and commercial stands, Live Music from the Sound Force Big band. A range of mouth watering food outlets and free samples on offer from Hampshire Fare.

A spectacular array of cars and motorcycles who all took part in an impressive sounding engine roar which was then followed by an impressive motorbike cavalcade.

There was also the opportunity to get up close to some beautiful classic aircraft and gliders and speak to their pilots. As well as the opportunity to sign up to the Army Air corps at their recruitment Stand.

Here are some of the photos taken on the day by our Love Andover photographer Jez Rolfe.

Look out for our next edition of the Love Andover Observer where lots more photos of this event will be shared
