A local chef has gone creative during the lockdowns that have been in place this year, using the time to experiment and have fun with different flavours with some home made ice creams that has resulted in a business launch.
Norelle Oberin has been able to spend more time in her own kitchen developing a long-held plan to introduce a speciality brand. From her base in Weyhill, Norelle is now concentrating on a range of ice creams under the name of “Froz” (to highlight her Australian roots) as well as a selection of home ready meals.
Australian born, Norelle started her training at the world famous Hyatt hotel in Melbourne and has amassed over 30 experience in the catering and hospitality industry. She settled in the UK for the past 13 years as a Head Chef within British Gastro dining establishments. Norelle is well known in the local area having worked as a freelancer in many village pubs including The White Horse Inn, The George Inn, The Red Lion and The Hawk.
Norelle told 95.9FM Andover Radio “I’m really excited with these products and they have been flying out the door. Lockdown has given me the opportunity to have a play with the different flavours and they are going down well”
Her ice creams and sorbets are made using top quality ingredients and include traditional flavours as well as some that are more exotic such as White Chocolate and Chilli, Brown Bread, Liquorice, Toasted Coconut, Rum and Raisin, Lavender and Gin and Tonic sorbet.
Customers with dietary restrictions are catered for too as Norelle has produced vegetarian, keto/diabetic and Vegan varieties. Norelle also offers a delivery service, bringing the product to you.
Norelle added “We’ve had requests for some wacky flavours which we have done for customers. We deliver too, all over Andover and out to Wiltshire too”
Froz is also offering a Christmas selection to include;
Mulled wine, Bailey’s Irish cream, Christmas pudding,
Vodka and Cranberry and Buck’s Fizz sorbet.
Ice creams and sorbets come in two sizes: 200ml and 400ml.
All of the packaging is environmentally friendly.
