Linkedin Local is a net kind of networking event.
This innovative event helps business people connect face-to-face, offering more than just the words and pictures on the world-leading professional social network.
The local Andover event set up by Andrew Middleton will be at the Andover Radio studios at Portland House (above Greggs and Toni and Guy) on Wednesday 6th March 2019 at 6pm.
A Fellow of the Royal Society for the Arts Mr Middleton, a not-for-profit consultant, says, “This concept originated in Australia, and we have now created this global movement to our corner of North West Hampshire.
“The simple premise of Linkedin Local is to put ‘the social back into social media’, to meet online contacts face to face and to meet the person behind the profile.
“We will be meeting once per quarter and March’s event at Andover Radio provides an open networking opportunity”.
He says that there is no heavy time commitment to meet other local businesses, there is no membership subscription, it’s relaxed, informal and light refreshments will be provided.
“With no guest speakers or presentations”, says Mr Middleton, “It just a great way to connect with contacts – old and new – to build genuine relationships.
The event on 6th March will be between 6pm and 8pm. The event is ticketed to encourage committed participation, priced at just £6 to cover costs only and any surplus will be donated to the Andover Foodbank.
“People do business with people they know, like and trust” says Mr Middleton.
Feel free to bring along your business cards but the evening is about connecting face to face rather than leading with your pitch.
Dates and venues for the next meetings in May, August and November 2019 will follow. For updates and more info please join and follow the #LinkedInLocalAndover page on LinkedIn.
