Andover Trees are currently putting out an open call for artists to take part in an exhibition to help raise funds for a woodland classroom and community space that they have planned for Harmony Woods in Andover.
They are asking for submissions of A5-sized artworks – the subject can be anything you like, in any medium you choose, and everyone is welcome to take part.
The deadline for submissions is February 26th 2021, more information about how it works anc how to enter can be found on their website here.
Throughout the month of March, they will be showcasing the submitted artworks on their social media pages. A different artwork will be showcased every day.
All of the exhibited artworks will be available for sale at a standard price (which has yet to be decided). As this is a fundraiser, 100% of the money made from sales will go towards funding the cabin project – a new woodland classroom and community space in Harmony Woods.
More detail about what the funds will go towards:
- They will help build an off-grid, woodland cabin… a classroom, volunteer base, green crafts workshop and community space. Through a collaboration with the Carpenter’s Fellowship, members of the community will have the chance to help with the build, which celebrates the completion of 10 years of tree planting, seeing 10,000 trees planted by 10,000 children from 30 local schools. This project will allow the charity to offer all-seasons nature-based activities and train a new generation of foresters.
- This versatile facility will transform the way our community-planted woodland can be enjoyed, making possible a forest school, training programmes, craft workshops, school lessons, business meetings & a space for volunteers to meet comfortably & take rest breaks from the weather.
