The Andover Carnival committee are delighted to announce that the 2018 Andover Carnival will take place.
Following an appeal in the press and on social media, organisers have managed to secure the much needed funds for this year’s event. They have issued the following:
We would first like to thank our sponsors that have supported us now for many years and have once again confirmed their commitment to this year’s event.
These are: Lloyds Banking Group, Simply Health, David Mellor and Ocado. Since the appeal we are delighted to announce some new sponsors. Thanks must go to Andover Central Club, Orvis, Andover Commercial Centre and Jungle Jungle, who all wanted to ensure that this popular local event did not disappear from the calendar.
The Go Fundme page, secured generous donations from the public and thanks to Mark Way School, who had a dress-down day which raised £62, and Lloyds who held a fund-raising day in their offices, which brought in £150.
As well as securing extra funds the Carnival committee has scrutinised every item of funding and expenditure.
All avenues were explored to see where cost reductions could be made, while ensuring that all essentials, such as security and toilets, were not compromised. The meeting concluded that the event could go ahead and plans are well in hand.
So, Andoverians, your support is now needed to come forward with entries for the procession, park stalls and on stage acts as well as anyone wishing to help on the day all application forms can be found at http://andovercarnival.org/
