The Andover Salvation Army is hosting two concerts to raise funds for the Twyford Ward at Royal Hampshire County Hospital (RHCH).
The first concert is on the 4th of May, featuring the Household Troops Band of The Salvation Army with vocalist Charlie Green. Known for their international tours and numerous recordings, this concert offers a dynamic and varied musical experience. The second concert, on the 15th of June, will showcase the White River Trombones, led by international soloist and teacher Brett Baker, along with The Salvation Army’s Sing to the Lord Choir.
Both concerts will be held at the Andover Community Church, located on Charlton Road (SP10 3JH), starting at 7:00 pm. Tickets are £10, with free admission for children under 16, and can be purchased at David Mellor Jewellers in the Andover Chantry Centre or by phone at 07887 526481.
These events are being held to express gratitude to the Twyford Ward at RHCH for the care they provided to Captain Simon Rowney, a member of the Andover Salvation Army. In August of last year, Captain Rowney experienced a massive brain bleed and was quickly taken to the Royal Hampshire County Hospital, then transferred to Southampton General Hospital (SGH) for emergency surgeries. Once stable, he returned to RHCH for recovery in the Hyper Acute Stroke Unit, with additional rehabilitation continuing after discharge.
To thank the medical teams that helped save Captain Rowney’s life, the Andover Salvation Army has organized these concerts to support the critical services of Twyford Ward. The proceeds will help ensure that others receive the same level of care and support during their own times of crisis
