Join the Fun and Support a Great Cause at Andover New Street Youth Charity Fun Day

Andover New Street Football Club is holding a charity fun day on today (May 1st), at Andover New Street in memory of their U13s Vixens coach, Jon Baxter, who passed away unexpectedly in February. The event is set to be a day of football and fundraising fun.

The event aims to raise funds for three charities close to the club’s heart. Firstly, Maggie’s, a charity that provides free cancer support and information centres across the UK and online. Secondly, the club’s inclusive group for players of all ages and abilities who have special needs and cannot join a mainstream club, Streets Ahead. Finally, the Hampshire & Isle Of Wight air ambulance.

The gates open at 10am, and the day starts with a match between the club’s U16s and a mixed team event. The entry fee for the event is £3 for adults and £2 for children. However, all youth players wearing their New Street kit get free entry. There’s plenty of chance in between the football to get your face painted, have a glitter tattoo, bounce on the bouncy castle, or have a refreshing beverage at the New Street bar. The event will also include a raffle with fantastic prizes donated by some amazing local businesses from across Hampshire.

Attendees can come and join in with some of the fun activities or simply enjoy an ice cream while listening to the dulcet tones of Andover’s very own Jake Ward, all before heading over to watch the afternoon game. Additionally, attendees will have the opportunity to see some familiar faces as some New Street legends dust off their studs and play alongside other Youth Team coaches and past players. This friendly match is sure to be highly competitive as the teams relive their glory days and the heady rush of the match.

The club hopes to see many attendees at the charity fun day, so come and join them at Andover New Street. The event promises to be an exciting day of football, fundraising, and fun, all for a great cause.
