This week was the week that we were released from lockdown and the High Street was buzzing. People flocked to the High Street to once again to #shopandover.
Kelly from Canto Gelato was raring to go and had the outside seating all set out ready. The constant flow of custom that she saw, in a COVID safe way, was a joy to see again. Kelly told us “It’s buzzing today and has been a brilliant start to the day. The people have been so supportive and serving them again is an amazing feeling.” Kelly and her team have been working incredibly hard in the build up to ensure a COVID safe environment and adding some tasty treats to their already mouth watering menu.
Kelly added “We are excited to bring more tasty food to our menu and our new bagel menu has really been popular. A bagel of your choice with a side of tortilla chips and dip for just £3.95.” I had the BLT bagel and it was delicious though they have vegetarian and vegan options available too.
Canto Gelato opened in 2019 to much fanfare but the future events that awaiting would really test them. Their resilience through the pandemic was astounding and they didn’t let it slow them down. With their hard work and positive attitude they not only survived but thrived. Adjusting their business to take out and deliveries they shone through, and always with a smile.
Their support for the community was strong through the pandemic and were a a big part in a successful meal vouchers drive that happened last year.
Now the chairs are outside and people have been enjoying the tasty food that they serve along with their new bagel menu which has gone down well. The gelato unit is outside and has a range of ever changing flavours including an Oreo and Mini Milk flavour.
