Last weekend saw the return of Andover Rocks to the town in an epic weekend of music and creative arts around the town.
The event attracted huge crowds across a variety location with live music and creative arts performances. The event kicked off at the Andover Central Club on Friday 1st April with a live music set from solo artists and bands. Then all day and night Saturday 2nd April the festival continued with performances in the Time Ring in the town centre from 10am until 4pm supported by Andover Radio.
With several musical acts, creative workshops spread out through the town over the Saturday and Sunday at The Angel Inn, Andover Tap at The Lamb Inn, The Bridge Café and the White Hart the event saw a great amount of support from the local community.
Andover Rocks seeks to improve people’s mental health through musical intervention as well as the annual festival they hold a variety of workshops throughout the year. Their core goal is to provide support for those in need to help young adults who suffer with their mental health.
Marie Ponting from Andover Rocks told us “It was absolutely wonderful to be back out at what felt like full force this weekend with Andover Rocks festival. The event ended up as a sell-out which is absolutely amazing!
“The team has worked so hard over the last 6 months to pull the event together, I’m so proud of them all. The performers were all absolutely incredible, I’m so humbled that they give their time and energy to this event. The venues were all accommodating and welcoming to the event and the attendees were all very energetic. I’m so so grateful to each and every one that supports Rocks in whichever way they can”
The event was a huge success and raised a whopping £2,820 (At time of writing) this will go towards the brilliant work Marie and her team at Andover Rocks do to help more people with mental health issues.
