Elvis and his Elves

Elvis and his Andover Radio Elves

Andover Radio is out and about today delivering special Christmas presents to people in and around the town.

Our little team of festive elves are working with The King, otherwise known as local man David ‘Elvis’ Wiltshire to provide bespoke hampers of festive gifts to people who will be spending Christmas Day alone. Elvis and his Elves are making trips around Andover each day this week up until and including Christmas Eve.

In an effort to minimise people having a ‘Blue Christmas’, we are visiting people nominated by radio listeners and those who have had to use the Love Andover Isolation Help Group this year.

Yesterday we made a special trip to the exceptional James’s Place at Penton Mewsey to deliver David Weatheritt a package of Andover Radio goodies including a Facebook Portal. The digital smart audio and video system includes Amazon Alexa so David can use his voice to command the unit to play his favourite radio station.

The effort is part of Andover Radio’s commitment to help reduce social isolation as part of its #LoveBus project. The project has been such a success in the past nine months that the project due to finish early next year has been extended, with thanks to assistance from the National Lottery.

On Christmas Eve, 95.9FM Andover Radio is proud to give young people a chance to meet with Santa Claus – this is in response to local garden centre Dobbies cancelling their Santa Grotto on Sunday.
