Goodnight Beautiful Zena.

“A beautiful lady inside and out” is how Zena Terry has been described online.

Here at Love Andover HQ we wish to pass our thoughts and condolences to the Terry family after it was announced online that an exceptional lady has passed away.

Zena Terry was 52 years old.

Her beautifully cheeky smile, her sense of devilment and her strength will live with many, many people in Andover for a very long time.

Last night Zena, wife to gregarious (and beardy) local businessman Nigel Terry succumbed to Motor Neurone Disease.

Her passing has left us saddened today, but many of us here at Love Andover HQ will simply remember her smile. On 95.9FM Andover Radio earlier today, David Harber commented, “You’ll be hard pressed to find anyone in Andover who doesn’t know and love Nigel and Zena.

“Nigel has committed everything to make Zena’s last hurrah as comfortable and fulfilling as possible. Through the awful ravages of the disease, you could just tell she was laughing, smiling and utterly in love with Nigel.”

Nigel and Zena have been together for more than three decades and were childhood sweethearts. Nigel relinquished his business ‘MBE Andover’ on George Yard to spend time supporting his wife after she was diagnosed with the disease which affects both the brain and the body’s nerves.

Posting online, husband Nigel said:

To those who knew and loved Zena Terry, it is with the deepest pain and sadness that I have to announce the passing of my best friend and wife of over 30 years at the age of 52, due to Motor Neurone Disease.

“If you had the privilege of knowing Zena, you will know how incredible she was and how she will leave a massive hole in our lives that will never be filled.

“She was full of love towards her friends and family, and will be missed greatly by her 2 boys, Jordan and Kian.

“We have received many messages of support, and we thank you all for your kind words.

“We may not get back to you right away, but know your support means a lot, not just now, but all through the last 3 and a bit years of suffering from this awful disease.”

Friend Rachel Smith commented, “My bestest girl, she was the most gentle, beautiful best friend anyone could have. I was lucky we found each other at school and had the best of times. Sleep tight Tuggy Taylor, love you always xx”

Mr Terry says that funeral arrangements will be shared online when he has them.

As hundreds of people shared their thoughts of sadness and condolences today… from us: “To Nigel, Jordan and Kian, we shed tears for this exceptional and beautiful lady today.

“And, we offer any support we possibly can to you all, in anyway we can.”
