Hampshire County Council and the local NHS are asking parents, carers, young people and practitioners across the county for their views on a number of health services.
The organisations have launched a survey to find out how people think services could be improved and made easier to access. The services under review are:
• Health Visiting Service
• School Nursing Service (not including special school nursing)
• NHS Community Therapy Services (speech and language, physiotherapy and occupational therapy)
Councillor Patricia Stallard, Executive Member for Public Health at Hampshire County Council, said: “We would like as many people as possible to take part in this survey, particularly those who have had support from any of the services that we are aiming to improve.
“We are keen to explore how we can work more efficiently with our NHS partners, for the benefit of Hampshire families.”
Dr Andy Whitfield, Clinical Director for the Hampshire Children and Maternity Collaborative Commissioning Team, said “We know from experience that when we ask patients and service users for their views and involve them in redesigning services we get a much better result.
“Patients and service users are experts in whether a service works or not, and why, and if they feed that information back to us via this survey it really can make a difference to the way that we do things in the future.”
The survey is available online at www.hants.gov.uk/consultations and is open until 22 May 2018. The findings will help inform decisions, to be taken later in the year, about how Public Health Nursing (health visiting & school nursing) and NHS Community Therapies in Hampshire will be provided in the future.
