Homes in King Arthurs Way were evacuated in the early hours of this morning after a van crashed into a gas mains.
Emergency services were called at 1:06am to reports of a Volkswagon Van crashing into the mains.
A 35 year old man from Andover has been arrested for driving whilst unfit through drink, aggravated taking of a motor vehicle and driving a motor vehicle over the limit.
Nearby residents were evacuated until the gas board made the area safe.
The man remains in custody.
