Much loved Andover musicians Marc Burford and Maddison Douch begin promoting the area’s new music artists and songs on the radio from next week.
The New Music Show with Marc and Maddi starts on 95.9FM Andover Radio next Sunday (10th January 2021) as they try to ‘cram in’ as much newly created local music as possible into their one hour weekly programme.
The team known for their single ‘Too Young’ are now seeking musicians of any genre to submit songs to gain radio airplay.
Artists are also asked to submit ‘biogs’, so they can be used to promote acts and songs across social media, too. The team based in Andover will be promoting new music made in the Hampshire, Wiltshire and Berkshire area.
Each week the popular singer-songwriters will try and expose the talents of as many local musicians as possible.
The programme was devised by Echotape singer and recording studio owner Marc, and much acclaimed singer, songwriter and teacher Maddi during the second lockdown. They created the programme as it became increasingly apparent that where music venues are closed, there is still a huge amount of local musicians putting ‘pen to paper’ and ‘finger to plectrum’.
Local singer Lizzie Cullen makes an appearance on their first ‘New Music Show’ next week.
Maddi says, “I love Lizzie’s voice, she has the most amazing voice in the world. She also writes the catchiest songs in the whole wide world.” Marc and Maddi will play her song, ‘I’ve got a crush on you’.
Being sufficiently distanced, they will be broadcasting (working) from home and will also play songs from artists like Matt Marshall who performed at Love Andover’s Armed Forces Day in 2019.
Marc adds, “We’d like to have some live artists on the show. But, you know, Covid-friendly and all that”.
Joking about having live sessions while being socially distanced, Marc who runs Sunrise Studios at Middle Wallop, adds, “For our ‘live sessions’, please send your recordings and we will feature as many as possible on the show.”
