Midday Andover snow update

Test Valley Borough Council are advising people that bin collections may be affected because of the overnight and continued snowfall.

The council is advising residents to leave bins out for collection as normal, and waste will be collected when the weather allows.

Highways England continues to advise drivers to take caution on the roads which may be icy.  

This morning a vehicle had overturned on the Newbury Road at Enham. 

Andover Police have deployed officers on foot around the town centre to inspect pavements and offer assistance to anyone in need.

Harrow Way was the only secondary school to close today this morning.  John Hanson Community School have announced they will close at 1.25pm.

Winton Academy has now announced that they will close at 1.30pm.

Kimpton Primary have announced they will close at 12.30 today and Andover C of E Primary on East Street are being cautious, for the safety of pupils, parents and staff they will close at 2.00pm.

Trains are mostly unaffected however Stagecoach buses say the Number 76 to Picket Twenty although running has severe delays. Service 5 will run only as far as the MOD. The number 8 will run between Andover and Ludgershall only today.
