Stagecoach buses will be enhancing passenger safety in Andover from tomorrow.
As non-essential stores in the high street are allowed to re-open their doors, the bus company is following government guidelines to ensure passenger safety.
Stagecoach boss Nigel Lukowski told Andover Radio today that he hopes people will take note the new rules and the signage on buses and at bus stops.
Because of the limitation on the number of people permitted on each vehicle, do expect to see ‘BUS FULL’ signs on the front of the bus.
AT THE BUS STOP:
- Wear a face covering while waiting for a bus
- Stand 2 metres apart from other passengers where possible
- Because of distancing rules, be prepared that the bus may be full
- If the bus is full, it’s a one-on, one-off policy
ON THE BUS:
- Wear a face covering
- Sit in a window seat
- Do not sit next to others in double seats (unless a member of your household)
- Keep an empty row in front and behind you
- Use contactless payment if possible
- Take all your belongings and rubbish off the bus with you
CONCESSIONS
Concessionary travel passes may only be used after 9:30am from tomorrow. Stagecoach say, “We have been advised by the local authorities that the pre-0930 time restriction on concessionary pass use will be re-introduced from Monday 15th June 2020.
The temporary scheme to relax concessionary travel times was introduced on 20th March to provide more flexibility for vulnerable people to visit supermarkets earlier in the day during the lockdown.
Local radio station 95.9FM Andover Radio will provide passenger safety information throughout the day tomorrow as people get accustomed to these new arrangements.
Richard Hobbs will provide frequent bus and general travel information from 7:00am until 7:00pm tomorrow.
