The ceremonial royal funeral will be held at St George’s Chapel, in the grounds of Windsor Castle, at 15:00 today (Saturday 17 April).

St Marys Church in Andover, opened the doors and invited people in to pay their respects to Prince Philip. On the 10th April 2021, A spokesperson from St Marys said, “it was our privilege to welcome people from Andover and around to St Mary’s today to light a candle, to spend time in stillness and for private prayer. It was very moving to hear of many peoples memories of meeting the Duke of Edinburgh in so many different contexts.
“Earlier in the day, our Vicar, Chris led prayers as Professor Khalid Aziz, Deputy Lord Lieutenant of Hampshire and Councillor Martin Hatley, Mayor of Test Valley, laid floral tributes in the Memorial Garden at St Mary’s. The flowers are now on display in the church”
As a sign of respect and gratitude, the flags at all council’s buildings have been lowered to half-mast.
HM Lord-Lieutenant of Hampshire, Nigel Atkinson Esq, said: “The death of His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh has seen a huge outpouring of grief across Hampshire together with the nation as a whole.
“At this time of profound sadness, I imagine that many of us across our Hampshire communities will wish to pause and reflect during the National Minute’s Silence that will take place ahead of the funeral on Saturday afternoon, in a personal act of mourning and remembrance, on this very poignant day.”
Leader of Hampshire County Council, Councillor Keith Mans, said, “It is with great sorrow that we must pay our final respects to The Duke of Edinburgh. His funeral honours the culmination of a lifetime of duty to the nation, and at County Council buildings, our flags will remain lowered at half-mast on what will be a day of sombre commemoration, but also of thanksgiving for a remarkable life lived.”
Andover Radio will be showing respect and remembering Prince Philip today with a live news broadcast from London at 3:00pm, followed by a one minute silence.
