Running for a Cause: Schools Light Up the Season for The Countess of Brecknock Hospice

Pupils from several local schools came together over the festive season to organise a Sponsored Rudolph Run, with the noble goal of raising funds for The Countess of Brecknock Hospice. Harrow Way, Anton Infant School, Littleworld Nursery Clatford, Little Rooks at Rookwood, and Finkley East Anton Nursery all participated in this charitable endeavour, creating a wave of generosity that reached impressive heights.

The collective effort of these five schools resulted in an astounding fundraising total of £9060.73. The proceeds from the Sponsored Rudolph Run will go towards supporting The Countess of Brecknock Hospice, an organization dedicated to providing palliative and end-of-life care to adults facing life-limiting illnesses in Andover and its surrounding villages. Additionally, the hospice extends crucial comfort and support to the families, friends, and caregivers of those in need.

Expressing their gratitude, representatives from The Countess of Brecknock Hospice conveyed their sincere thanks to the schools for their commitment and enthusiasm in organizing such a meaningful event. The schools’ dedication to the cause, the active participation of the children, and the overwhelming support from friends and families have made a significant impact on the success of this fundraising initiative.

As a token of appreciation, The Countess of Brecknock Hospice plans to visit each of the participating schools in person to convey their thanks and recognition for the incredible contribution made by the students and their communities. In the meantime, they extend a heartfelt THANK YOU to all the schools involved, acknowledging the tremendous effort put forth to make the Sponsored Rudolph Run a resounding success.

This charitable endeavour not only showcases the generosity and compassion of the local community but also highlights the power of collective action in supporting organizations that play a vital role in providing comfort and care during challenging times. The impact of the funds raised will undoubtedly be felt by those receiving the invaluable services of The Countess of Brecknock Hospice, fostering a sense of solidarity and compassion within the community.
