Summer blooms set to brighten up Andover town centre

Test Valley Borough Council will be brightening up Andover this month by installing a vibrant array of floral displays in the centre of town.

The council had to delay installing the hanging baskets this year due to lockdown, but shoppers will soon be able to enjoy the brightly coloured blooms once more.

Sourced from a local supplier in Test Valley, the baskets and decorative troughs brimming with seasonal plants will bring a little extra vibrancy to the town centre. These will sit alongside four flower towers.

The authority is also busy sprucing up its parks, verges and roundabouts with beautiful new bedding plants.

Portfolio holder for community and leisure, Councillor Ian Jeffrey said: “As we reopen the High Street, I am delighted that we are able to place flowers in the town centre again. We have a really fantastic team that helps to brighten up the town every year and they are all incredibly passionate about what they do.

The flowers really help to bring joy to the centre of Andover during the summer months and I hope that as more people return to the shops, they will enjoy these brilliant displays.”
