The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Night -Time at the Mayflower Theatre

Review by Phoebe Trimmer and Shannon Sturgess

Year 10 and 11 students from John Hanson School enjoyed a trip to Mayflower Theatre as part of their Drama GCSE prepartion for exams ,

They said, “We went to see ‘The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Night Time’ at  the Mayflower on the 25th of January, and let’s just say it was absolutely amazing! Both Year 10 and 11 Drama students saw the performance, which benefits their preparation for exams.

Frantic Assembly did an absolutely breath-taking physical theatre performance, and showed the characters perfectly throughout. The actors, the stage, the costumes, the lighting and the sound effects all made the performance absolutely outstanding. The visual experience was supported by the auditory experience and it felt so incredible to be sat in a seat and watch and hear such an intense yet gripping piece, and see the ways they demonstrated the mind of an autistic young individual through this was shown in the best way possible.

There was never a point of boredom or loss of focus, it was full of energy at all times, and the actors were always doing something which grabbed our attention. If you want to be submerged into a performance, we fully recommend you watch this performance as soon as you can.
