Places Leisure and Test Valley Borough Council are excited to bring you news of your brand new Andover Leisure Centre, opening Spring 2019!
As the countdown to Spring draws ever closer, we would like to remind you of the features of your new facility. We simply can’t keep our lips sealed anymore about our new sports hall, pool, clip and climb and many more facilities we are opening.
Main foyer
Our new Cafelogy café will provide the perfect place for you to unwind and relax after your workout or a place for you to fuel yourself up beforehand.
The soft play area (formerly Merlins Kingdom) has been given an incredible upgrade with three storeys of features being installed. We are also excited to bring you a unique ‘clip and climb’ area with a ‘leap of faith’ feature. This will include a range of different climbing walls with funky themes that can be booked out for parties, private events or for general use! We can’t wait for this one.
Gym and studio classes
Your local gym will be transformed into a state-of-the-art fitness suite with a range of new equipment added. The 155 stations will include an upgrade in existing kit, specifically featuring the addition of watt bikes, skill mills, assault bikes and skiergs.
If you love your studio classes we have three dedicated studio rooms as well as the addition of a virtual spin studio to complement our instructor lead sessions.
Sports
We’re also delighted to be bringing Andover a dedicated centre for an array of multi sports. Whether hitting a shuttlecock is your thing, or having a kick-about with your mates keeps you active, then our brand new sports hall will be your new home.
The multi use hall will be available for an array of sports, including:
- Badminton
- Indoor football
- Basketball
- Short tennis
- Table tennis
- Hire for bouncy castle parties
- Gymnastics
- And much more!
Along with the hall we will also have two excellent squash courts with a removable wall for doubles matches. The back walls will be made out of glass, so showing off your squash skills will be even easier.
Pool and health suite
The pool will have a whole host of new features.
The splash pad will be a haven for families. Our 15 water features will ensure you won’t be leaving our poolside dry! The rubber crumb flooring will ensure that children stay safe when playing.
Our new teaching pool with a retractable floor will make swimming lessons bespoke to suit your child’s swimming ability.
The 25 metre main will have the space for 6 lanes so get your swimtag at the ready! We have also provided an accessible access platform.
After your swim you will be able to unwind in our sauna and steam room.
