Hop for the Hospice and Raise Funds with Countess of Brecknock Hospice Trust’s Easter Social Media Challenge

The Countess of Brecknock Hospice Trust is on a mission to involve the community in supporting their local hospice.

With the Easter holiday just around the corner, they’ve launched their newest fundraising initiative: the Hop for the Hospice challenge. The goal of this challenge is to encourage people of all ages to get involved, have some fun, and help raise vital funds for the hospice. Whether you’re an individual, a family, a business or a community group, there’s something for everyone in this exciting challenge.

In an effort to involve the community in supporting their local hospice, the fundraising team created the Hop for the Hospice social media challenge. Hop for the hospice, record a video, share on social media and tag #COBHOP. Text COBHOP to 70085 to donate £3 (plus network charge).

We had the opportunity to speak with Joana Ribeiro, a member of the team, and asked her about the inspiration behind the challenge.

Joana stated that the hospice aims to promote moments of happiness and involve people of all ages in supporting a great cause. She said “The challenge is a way of encouraging people to share beautiful moments and make memories with their loved ones while supporting the hospice”. She added that the challenge is an excellent opportunity to raise awareness of the hospice’s services and engage people in a fun activity.

When asked about the fundraising goal, Joana highlighted the challenging times faced by charities and the importance of community support. She added “The funds raised through the challenge will be used to continue providing outstanding care to those requiring palliative care services, either in the inpatient unit or at home with the care and knowledge of the hospice’s Home Care, Hospice at Home, and Community Palliative Care services”. Every penny raised will make a difference, and anyone can take part by donating just £3 through a text message to COBHOP at 70085.

Regarding specific goals or milestones for the challenge, Joana emphasized that the hospice staff hopes that people will feel involved and value their local hospice. The challenge is a fun activity aimed at encouraging people, including families, schools, community groups, and companies, to have a “Hop for the Hospice.” By participating in the challenge, people can help raise awareness of the hospice’s services and support their fundraising efforts.

In conclusion, the Hop for the Hospice challenge is an exciting opportunity for the community to support the Countess of Brecknock Hospice Trust while having fun and making beautiful memories with loved ones. The challenge aims to raise awareness of the hospice’s services and encourage people to get involved in supporting their local hospice. By participating in the challenge, everyone can make a difference and help provide outstanding palliative care services to those who need them the most.
