Coronation party: It’s all Kinging Off – Day 2 Line Up

Here at Love Andover and Andover Radio we love putting on “not for profit” music festival events for the benefit of our local community.

That’s why this Summer….. we are doing not 1 or 2, but a lucky 7 yes….7 different Music Events in different venues across North Hampshire!

This starts this weekend with “It’s all kinging off” – A 2 day festival at 2 different venues to celebrate the Coronation of King Charles III.

The event is brought to you by Andover Radio & Love Andover and is sponsored by The Commercial Centre, Elite Building Maintenance, Rebel Wine.

Check out the events here: Day 1 at The George Inn and Day 2 at The Foresters Arms.

To Celebrate Day 2 of this momentous occasion we moved a little closer to central Andover to take the word to the Street regarding our “Magnificent 7” of free Summer Music Festivals.

And where better as an address than “LONDON ST”

So, we teamed up with the established and musically appreciative local publicans Ann & Dai Watkins from the Foresters arms to put on a street party event for the afternoon featuring 2 up and coming acts and 2 established Andover music heavyweights!

ROUTE 66 – 2:00PM

King Charles is well known for his work with the princes trust and youth initiatives – so we thought what better way to kick things off than with two talented Andover College Music Course students Gracie Shilton and Tommy Jeakins – known as ROUTE 66.

James Williams, Commercial Director at Love Andover said – “The first time I heard Grace sing I was gobsmacked how such vocal maturity could come from a girl her age – its astonishing”

Then when you add Tommy into the mix who undoubtedly has the passion, determination and motivation to become a great guitar player it seemed only right that we should give the two of them the opportunity to open up Day 2. Please come and give them the encouragement and support they deserve.

QUEEN BEE & JONNO – 3:00PM

Sofia Belefelice a.k.a. Queen B is a soulful songstress who regularly performs as a solo act in Hampshire and further afield.

Jonno is an accomplished electric Blues guitarist who performs with The Alex Wilson Blues Band in the Southampton area, including support slots for Eric Steckel and Big Wolf Band.

They met when they both joined ‘The Superlatives’ a Motown band based in Eastleigh.

Expect a wide variety of styles, soaring vocals, beautiful harmonies and fun solo guitar arrangements.

SHOWPONIES – 4:00PM – 6:00PM

Pulling double duty this weekend – after Saturdays “Aintree National Hunt” line up we got them back in the stalls on Sunday with a team they like to put out for a spot of “Flat Racing” – expect crowd pleasing covers and general mayhem in our Sunday Afternoon “Legends” slot from the band comprising of James Stretch and members of Lowriders, Stonepig, LunaCube and a few surprise guest appearances

Line up is James Stretch (Independently bred), Gorgeous George Howarth (Lowriders), Pete “The Shirehorse” Burden (Stonepig), Dave “The Bearded Stallion” Allon (Stonepig) and some very special guests.

HEADLINERS – NO WAY OUT – 6:00pm – 8:00pm

And introducing our second Headliner of the Summer Series – and a band you should all be very familiar with for their polished musicianship and the sublime vocals of front woman Kate Lamb – We give to you the mighty “NO WAY OUT!”

If you haven’t seen them then where have you been!!!!! They are, quite simply, an awesome rock, pop, indie alternative and Britpop covers band with more experience, pedigree and years between them than you can shake even a shakey thing at…..some of them actually naturally rattle….they are that experienced.

They play a massively eclectic mix of all the classics you love, as well as epic swerve balls you won’t hear anywhere else. We just love what they do and know you’ll love it too.

THE AFTERPARTY – 8:30pm onwards – DACASOUND

So finally, to see out this epic day, we are moving things more “club based” with an indoor disco and music from Dacasound to finish off what promises to be an epic day of great live music, community spirit and entertainment so if it’s a closing set of absolute bangers you’re after, we’ve got you covered!

Disclaimer – side affects of the “It’s all kinging off weekend” may include compulsion to dance, sing and stay in bed all the following bank holiday Monday
