February half term fun at The Lights

The first half term of the year is almost upon us and The Lights has a packed programme to keep children entertained and occupied this February.

Storytelling, arts and crafts, dance, drama and children’s theatre all feature, for children from 1 to 12 years of age.

Encourage your youngsters from 6-9 to take part in an energetic and exciting workshop with tutor Amanda and become a Superhero for a Day on Monday, 17 February from 10am – 3pm.  As well as playing games and making superhero masks, children will put together a routine to show family and friends at the end of the day.

For something a little more crafty then why not design colourful milk bottle birds for the garden on Tuesday, 18 February.  Two workshops are running for different age groups: 10am – 12pm for ages 5-7 (under 7’s must be accompanied by an adult) and 1 – 3.30pm for ages 8-12 (without accompaniment).  Join tutor Alex and use old plastic milk bottles to create beautiful brightly coloured birds with buttons, beads and feathers.

Then for younger ones aged 2-5 (must be accompanied) join in with our storytelling adventure and bring We’re Going on a Bear Hunt to life with a swish, swash, splish, splash! 9.30, 11am or 1pm on Wednesday, 19 February.  A fun, interactive music and storytelling workshop.

Finally, round the week off in style with Rain Rain Go Away, a weather themed music, movement and early years drama session for ages 1-3 (must be accompanied).  Full of your favourite songs guaranteed to make the sun come out. 10 or 11.30am.

Encourage creativity, activity and the power of children’s imaginations this February with a visit to The Lights.  Tickets can be booked at the Box Office, in person or by telephone: 01264 368368 or online: www.thelights.org.uk
