Andover Remembers, with the Andover Town Band

The Andover Town Band was delighted to play at the Andover Remembers Concert on Saturday 11th November 2023.

The event held at the Andover Baptist Church attracted a good-sized audience of around 140, who were treated to a programme of high-quality brass band music, including traditional military marches, solo items, big band numbers, and more reflective music. The second half included a moving Act of Remembrance, including the Exhortation, Last Post, Two Minutes of Silence and Reveille, focused around a military drum head ceremony.

Phil North, Leader of Test Valley & Bourne Valley Ward & HCC Cllr for Andover South commented on Facebook “A huge thank you to Andover Town Band for putting on the special ’Andover Remembers’ concert tonight. Last year was brilliant, but tonight was even better – and I’m so glad this has become an annual event in Andover’s calendar. The finale with the drumhead altar was as if we had been transported to the Royal Albert Hall. Lest we forget!” Money raised from the evening will be donated to the 2023 Poppy Appeal.

Your next chance to hear the band is at the annual Andover Town Band Christmas Concert on Saturday 16th December at 7:30pm.
