How to spend Boxing day in Andover

Boxing Day is a time to spend with family or friends, usually those not seen on Christmas Day itself. Boxing day dinner has always been my favourite meal, a Christmas buffet or “leftovers” from Christmas lunch.

In recent times, the day has become linked with many sports. Horse racing is particularly popular with meets all over the country.

The BBC horse racing events can be found here

Many top football teams also play on Boxing Day. Sadly some have been postphoned due to Covid, but Talk Sport share the latest Premier League fixtures for Boxing Day 2021, here

Another ‘sport’ to emerge in recent years is shopping, the Boxing day sales, have some people up as early as 4am, to grab a bargain from the Boxing Day sales. If you decided to do this today, please remember to follow the latest Covid rules.

Or how about getting outside today and working off that Turkey and Christmas pudding from yesterday and enjoying a local walk or bike ride. Local walks and bike ride suggestions can be found here

Today on Andover Radio, we have some special Boxing Day shows, Chris B’s Boxing Day Bangers  and local lad Layton Phillips. Click here for details of todays On Air Schedule.

Are you holding a local event ?, Then tell us about it so that we can let others know, event listings can be added for free to our website here
