It all seems a bit different again this year with Andover towns Christmas tree being erected , local residents were eagerly anticipating a night in the town for the much loved entertainment of the year.
But for the second year running Andover’s main christmas lights switch on will not go ahead. TVBC have said that due to health and safety with the amount of people being in the town centre at one point and covid figures rising there will be no light switch on event. You can read more here
Local residents have spoken out over their disappointment about the decision making comparisons to over large events that are happening within the country on several local Facebook groups.
Vicky Randell commented , “The switch on made Christmas this is so sad .Used to be a tradition”

Beverly Power told us, “Initially I was disappointed when I heard the ‘grand’ event wasn’t happening, however, when I saw how much more test valley and the bid are arranging”
