Town centre Sainsbury’s now closed

Sainsburys Bridge Street Andover Closed

Andover’s town centre Sainsbury’s store has closed.

The smaller of the two Sainsbury’s stores in Andover closed its doors on Bridge Street at the weekend for the final time.

A spokesperson told Andover Radio today, “We locked the store for the last time on Saturday at 4pm”.

We were informed in September that the store was earmarked for closure. A spokesperson told us, “We’ve informed colleagues about the difficult decision to close our Andover store and are doing everything to find alternative roles within Sainsbury’s for those affected.”

Tesco Extra in the Chantry Centre closed in 2014. The Marks and Spencer Food Hall closed in 2018.
