Andover Vision: Fitness Equipment Plan

People in Andover are being asked for thoughts on council plans to install outdoor fitness equipment around the town.

Following feedback from the Andover Vision partnership, Test Valley Borough Council will provide free, outdoor gym stations in four locations across Andover.

These locations are Charlton Leisure Centre, Augusta Park sports pitches, Picket Twenty Urban Park and Watermills Park.

The range of equipment will include chin-up bars, balance beams, cross trainers, exercise bikes and bench press stations.

Community and Leisure Portfolio Holder, Councillor Tony Ward, said, “This project has been inspired by feedback from Andover Vision, where residents, community groups and other stakeholders have asked for more outdoor sports equipment.

It also contributes to one of the Mayor’s priorities – encouraging health and wellbeing through activity – by providing accessible and free apparatus.

You can view the proposals at www.testvalley.gov.uk and submit comments by contacting Test Valley Borough Council’s Community and Leisure team on 01264 368000 or Community&Leisure@testvalley.gov.uk.

The consultation is open until Friday 5th January 2018.
