In the first of it’s new and exciting Faces of the High street competitions , Andover BID has been working on an exciting Faces of the High Street competition and has announced a winner .
The competition aimed at supporting local Andover businesses following the long period of Coronavirus lockdown featured Alex McGarry Studio and Burgo’s Pet World. Deadline for the competiti on was 21st July and the lucky winner chosen through a randomizer was Jane Caron from Amesbury.
Jane says, “ this was an amazing opportunity from Andover BID and I was surprised and delighted to win the prize and I am now in touch with Alex to discuss the commission which will take about 4 weeks to paint , I am so excited”
People were encouraged to enter the competition to win a painted portrait of their pet by local artist and gallery owner Alex McGarry artist worth £695 as well as a £35 voucher to spoil their pet from Burgo’s Pet World. To enter the competition, all people needed to do was to like In Andover, the new Andover BID’s website on Facebook and share the post for with a chance to win this fantastic prize.
Steve Godwin, BID Manager says “This is the first of our Faces of the High Street initiatives and was hugely successful with over 700 people entering. We aim to support local businesses after a very difficult period for them and the clear message to people of Andover is that Andover is open again for business and is a safe, convenient and enjoyable town centre to visit“
