Police are appealing for witnesses and information after a man was robbed of his mobile phone on Pilgrims Way in Andover.

The 44-year-old was walking along the pathway that runs alongside Tesco in Pilgrims Way at about 8.30pm on Saturday 16th November, when he was approached by an unknown man.

The man hit the victim on the head with a metal pole and stole his Nokia Lumia mobile phone, sunglasses and some cash.

The victim sustained a cut to his forehead and was treated at hospital.

PC Ben Lee said: “Did you see anything happen on this pathway at the relevant time?

I would also like to speak to two people who may have spoken to the victim shortly after the incident happened.
