About 32,000 properties in Andover and the surrounding area was hit by a power cut earlier today affecting homes, businesses and infrastructure as traffic lights also failed.
The cut happened at around midday and lasted approximately 15 minutes as a fault caused by a pigeon touching vital equipment at Hurstbourne Tarrant tripped out the network.
Other areas affected were:
- Longparish
- Whitchurch
- Hurstbourne Tarrant
- Tangley
- Weyhill
- Middle Wallop
- Over Wallop
- Stockbridge
- Sutton Scotney
Southern Electric say that power was restored to all areas by 12:21pm today.
