In the flow of time and space
my face emerges
and says what’s on my heart
to take words and place them
in eloquent ways not to be torn apart
to question the absolutes
and acknowledge their roots
in our society
to not be put off or put down quietly
My purpose is to be as big as my dreams
and full of a blossoming heart
to nurture my ideas
and not to be shrunk by fears
not to be pushed like a weather vane by the wind
but to acknowledge the hot air of others
but not to have my ideas binned
by their hot air.
to have a sense of identity and not despair
My purpose is what I hold in my heart and mind
and my soul which cries out
I will not lose my way to doubt
or loud noises
I choose my words my voice will sound out for the voiceless
the marginalised, the disabled
and I catch their stories in poetry if I am able.
