In August, two local kickboxers captured our hearts with their remarkable journey to the European Kickboxing Championships, representing Team GB.
The proud parent of these young talents recently provided an exciting update on their progress, showcasing their unwavering determination and spirit in the world of kickboxing.
Harley, a remarkable 8-year-old, returned from the Championships in Turkey with a shining achievement under her belt – the title of European Champion. With a heart full of determination and an unyielding spirit, she demonstrated her mettle in the ring, seizing the coveted Gold medal. Her journey was a testament to her unwavering commitment and passion for the sport.
On the other hand, Cole, at the tender age of 6, entered the competition with the spirit of a true warrior. Competing in a category featuring 7-9-year-olds, he defied the odds and secured a commendable 4th place. His performance was a remarkable feat, showcasing his determination and raw talent at such a young age.
But the story doesn’t end there. Harley’s remarkable journey continued with her selection to represent Team England at the World Championships held in Calgary, Canada. This was a tremendous honor and a testament to her skill and dedication. At just 8 years old, she stepped into a fiercely competitive 9-12 age category. Her journey to the finals was nothing short of extraordinary, where she faced off against some of the best young kickboxers from around the world.
In the finals, Harley displayed unmatched bravery, determination, and fighting spirit. Her performance was nothing short of inspiring, and she narrowly missed out on the gold, securing a remarkable Silver medal instead. Her journey to the World Championships was a testament to her commitment, not only to her sport but also to her country.
